Yesterday I saw the biggest snails I had ever seen in my life. They were sitting on the branches of a tree. The tree had begun to lean too far forward and encroach onto the garden and needed to be staked. My job was to push the tree into a more upright position and hold it there while the ropes were tightened. Hands either side of the giant mollusks I pushed, and tried not to look at them. For whatever reason snails creep me out.
Later in the car I killed a spider and wonder if it had thought about the day of ahead of it when it woken up that morning.
